Could Live Streaming Take Over Bingo Industry Next?

Live streaming is up there with the wheel, sliced bread, and the printing press when it comes to the best innovations of all time.

It’s certainly one of the top developments of the internet age, and the platform has boomed over the last few years. Whilst it is being used successfully at online casinos, it hasn’t had much of an impact on the online bingo market yet. Could this be set to change over the next few years?

Bingo Industry Booming Online

The bingo industry has thrived over recent years, mainly thanks to its adoption of technology to appeal to a wider audience. A wide range of people play online bingo now thanks to the variety on offer, with different rooms designed to appeal to diverse personalities. Players can find options like Deal or No Deal Bingo, Cash Cubes, and the Gold Room, and each one offers a slightly altered bingo environment.

In addition to the numerous rooms, there are also countless instant win games like Slingo Fowl Play and Davinci Diamonds. These appeal to online casino customers and have helped more people discover bingo for the first time.

While the bingo games happen in real-time, live streaming hasn’t taken off in the sector yet. Taking inspiration from the online casino market, there could be live-streamed bingo games with real people calling the numbers.

Live Streaming Has Had a Big Impact on Online Casinos

Live streaming went mainstream in 2017 when Facebook introduced it to the masses. It was already widespread at online casinos before then, but this development helped it become ubiquitous. Since then, live streaming has become one of the most popular ways to play at these sites, and studios have put a lot of focus on developing new titles for the platform.

In the early days of live streaming, it was mainly used to bring real versions of traditional tables like roulette and blackjack to players at home. In recent years, though, there have been countless innovations beyond these offerings. Game shows have been another great discovery which encouraged a wider range of players. The popularity of these game types suggests that live bingo would also be a massive hit.

Could Pave the Way to VR Bingo

If live streaming is introduced at online casinos, it could be a stepping stone towards other developments. Virtual reality is projected to be worth $129.99 billion by 2030, meaning it could have been introduced into the bingo industry by that time.

VR could help online bingo replicate the classic physical version of the game and enhance the existing bingo rooms. If this is combined with live streaming, it would give players the chance to feel as though they are sitting in a bingo hall with other players.

Live streaming has had a massive impact on countless industries over the last few years, but it hasn’t yet become integrated with online bingo. This could be set to change soon, though, as the platform has already fully permeated the online casino sector.
